The All-New Kia Niro has arrived! Available to test drive in three models — the Niro Hybrid, the Niro Plug-In Hybrid, and the all-electric Niro EV

9 Futuristic Features of the Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 has been hailed as one of the most important cars in Kia's history and it's easy to see why. The revolutionary electric car combines a cool and sleek design with first class performance and high safety features and connectivity. This car tells us one thing; the future has arrived.

Built on Kia's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV6 is a big performer that needs only 3.5 seconds to go from rest to 62 mph and can travel 310 miles on a single charge. And while this tells us that Kia can indeed make a fast EV, the following features will show you just how cool the car really is.

1. Panoramic Dual 12.3" Curved Display

Two curved 12.3” high-definition widescreens wrap around the driver providing easy access to key vehicle information at a glance.

Directly in front of the driver is a customizable ‘cluster screen’ which displays information such as speed, remaining all-electric range and state of charge. Adjacent is a central display screen combining the navigation, infotainment and menu systems.

These screens are paired together in a seamless curve, creating a panoramic feeling that is immersive and unobstructed under all driving conditions.

5. Blind View Monitor

The EV6 features Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM) and Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) systems to ensure lane changes are made safely every time.

BVM acts as a second pair of eyes by eliminating the driver’s left- and right-hand side blind spots by displaying a high-definition view within the EV6’s fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster.

BCA uses radar sensors to warn the driver of approaching vehicles, with the system activating the brakes if there’s a risk of a collision during lane change manoeuvres.

6. Highway Driving with Lane Change Assist

To ensure safety and convenience out on the highway, the EV6 features Kia’s latest Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2) package.

Using radars located around the vehicle, the system can help the driver to maintain a set distance and speed from the vehicle ahead while Lane Following Assist (LFA) technology centres the vehicle in its lane.

Using Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Curve Control (NSCC-C)  the system can reduce the vehicle speed through curves and reset the speed once conditions allow.

7. Augmented Reality Heads-up Display

The new Augmented Reality head-up display introduces a virtual display on the windshield, in the driver’s line of sight.

It provides all the key information for hassle free & safe trips including alerts from the car’s Advanced Driver Assistance System, details of vehicle speed, and turn-by-turn navigation instructions.

8. Up to 328 Mile Range

The entry-level rear-drive Kia EV6 can travel up to 328 miles on a single full chanrge according to official WLTP testing.

Considering the average daily commute is around 30 miles, that's enough to keep you going.

In fact, it's enough to take you all the way from Chippenham to the Lake District!

9. Ultra Fast Charging

Thanks to the EV6's 800 V high-speed charging, you can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes. With this charging power, you can get 62 miles of range in just 4.5 minutes. And with the multi-charging system, you can use both 800 V high-speed charging and the more mainstream 400 V fast charging.

With 400 V charging, the EV6 uses the electric motor and inverter to convert the 400 V current from the charger into 800 V. All this happens smoothly and intuitively, allowing you to get the optimum charging speed.
