Kia repeats wins at Company Car Today Awards

Kia has scooped more wins for the Sorento and Picanto at the 2022 Company Car Today CCT100 Awards. This is the second consecutive year both cars have won their categories.

The seven-seat Sorento SUV, which is available with Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid or Diesel power, picked up the ‘Large SUV’ win. Judges praised its business credentials and noted the PHEV model’s low CO2 emissions (from 38g/km) and usable 35-mile electric range.

Judges also put the spotlight on the Picanto, awarding it the ‘City Car’ category win. Kia’s smallest car offers a class-best 255-litre boot and fuel economy of up to 58.9mpg, with emissions from 110g/km.

“Two awards at opposing ends of the marketplace illustrate the strength that runs through Kia’s entire mode line-up at the moment, something that will be enhanced with the addition of the EV6 and all-new Sportage models this year,” said Company Car Today Editor Paul Barker. “The Sorento gaining PHEV power makes it a low-emission seven-seat SUV that can match the best on the market while still having sensible running costs, while the Picanto’s all-round small car appeal stretches from its looks and low costs to the class-above space and driving experience.”

John Hargreaves, General Manager for Fleet and Remarketing, added: “We’re delighted to receive these awards for both Sorento and Picanto. They just go to show that Kia’s award-winning fleet proposition stretches from the smallest to the largest cars.”

Last year, Kia’s fleet market share grew to a record 6.4 per cent, ending the year as the fourth most popular fleet brand. The most popular fleet model was the Sportage, despite being in its run-out year. 2022 sees the introduction of the all-new Sportage, which went on sale in December last year, and will arrive in showrooms this February.

The annual CCT100 Awards assess cars for their suitability to meet business requirements. Starting with 20 categories, the CCT judges make a shortlist of the top five cars for each group before assessing them across the key factors that make an excellent company car. This includes emissions, price, running costs, company car tax, practicality, desirability breadth of offering and the driving experience. Only the top car from each category becomes a Company Car Today CCT100 Award winner.
