Used Kia Sportage

KIA Sportage advanced features

The new Kia Sportage has a large number of advanced safety, technology and comfort features that it can come with. These include:

Convenient Charging Pod

The new Sportage comes with a Convenient Charging Pod in the front of the cabin. This is a convenient Smartphone charging area, which can offer high speed wireless phone charging ability - to always make sure you are charged and connected.

For you passengers in the rear, there are fast USB charging ports which are available on the back of the front seats as well.

Integrated curved displays

The Integrated curved display is conveniently placed immediately in front of the driver, helping to keep the driver’s eyes on the road while providing all the information they need to know. This is a 12.3inch Supervision Cluster Display - which displays all the important information the driver will need at a glance.

Paired to this display, is another 12.3 inch hi-resolution screen. This display combines the:

  • Menu
  • In-car Infotainment system
  • Navigation display

Remote App Services

The Kia Sportage offers Remote App Services which allows you to utilise Kia Connect. Kia Connect, then lets you remotely - from the power of your smartphone - send destination information remotely to your sat nav - so the car has the address prepopulated when you get in - choose your SUVs settings, check key information on your car, and control charging on the hybrid models, along with even more features built in to the App.

Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA)

Remote Smart Parking Assist, or RSPA, allows you to remotely control your car outside of the vehicle with the use of the Kia key.

This feature is ideally designed to move your car in and out of tight parking spaces without you needing to squeeze in and out of the car door to do so - all via the power of the key.

This feature also has a built-in collision detection system when the car is moving on its own, which will automatically apply the brakes if it detects it is going to cause damage to the car.

Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist

The Sportage can come with Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist. This system automatically alerts you to other cars, and vehicles, that are in your blind spot, or those that are approaching quickly from the rear.

If the car then thinks a collision is going to occur - if you are moving into the lane where the other vehicle is - it can automatically correct the car's movements as well as applying the brakes to help you avoid an unforeseen accident from occurring.

Haram Kardon Premium Sound System

The Sportage can be fitted with a Haram Kardon Premium Sound System. This sound system gives you 8 high quality speakers, and comes with an external amplifier, and ASD - Active Sound Design - feature, for that immense sound experience while you are driving.

Surround View Monitoring

The Surround View Monitoring feature, gives you a 360° view of the area around the car.

This becomes available at speeds less than 6 miles an hour, and is ideally used for parking to make sure you have enough room all around this family SUV - and are close enough to the curb so you don’t either scrape the rims and tyres or need to get out to see.

Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control

The Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control takes you to the next level of driving features. This smart cruise control system maintains the SUV’s speed while adapting to the curvature of the road ahead, or for other vehicles in front of you.

It also has the ability to replicate the way you’re driving while doing so as well, as it learns your individual driving style to give you that seamless experience.

Forward Collision Avoidance and Assist Junction Turning

The Forward Collision Avoidance and Assist Junction Turning systems utilises the radar system built into the Sportage, to analyse data about other objects - cars, people, cyclists, trucks for example - and either enables a warning signal to appear, as well as braking for you if required. To help to prevent collisions in real time.

The junction turning feature of this automated safety feature, also monitors oncoming vehicles when you are making a left turn, and, again, can brake for you to avoid a junction collision.

Highway Driving Assist

The Highway Driving Assist feature can automatically adjust your speed based on the speed limit the car detects on the road. This can also be adjusted by yourself.

This feature can also control steering and acceleration, keeping you centred in your lane while keeping a safe distance from the vehicles in front of you.

How big is the boot on a Kia Sportage?

The boot in the Sportage can hold around 490 litres. Assuming a suitcase is 50 litre / or 50 KG, this would mean you should be able to get almost 10 suitcases in the boot - which is rather impressive.

Is a Kia Sportage fuel efficient?

This depends on what fuel type you are using, the engine size, model, weight, and importantly your driving style, to name a few things.

However, when it comes to petrol models this can vary; but it can tend to give you around 43MPG, with the diesel models coming in around the 56MPG mark.

However, please see the hybrid section further down to also factor this in - as we say, there can be a lot of variables to this measure.

What does a Kia Sportage weigh?

A Kia Sportage typically weighs around 1.400 KG to 1.500 KG.

How does a Kia Sportage hybrid work?

The hybrid version works due to them having 2 power systems built in - over the standard one. This hybrid system is therefore a combination of a petrol or diesel power system, and an electric power system.

Consequently, it means the car can switch between the 2 types, which drastically increases its fuel efficiency and MPG overall as well.

Kia Sportage Towing Capacity, what can it tow?

The Kia Sportage is a popular and a great family car. As a result, the questions of: Can a Kia Sportage tow a caravan?, or: What weight can a Kia Sportage tow? regularly pops up.

So, to answer those, a Kia Sportage can typically (depending on the engine size, and model) tow from 1,400 KGs for the smaller 1.6 engines, to an impressive 2,200 KG for the larger 2.0 size engines.

However, you should always look up the specifications of the vehicle - or trailer - you are wanting to tow.

To give you some idea of what this looks like roughly in real world terms, a 1,400KG caravan can typically be a 4 Berth, and a 2,200KG caravan can typically be 8 Berths; however, please note: this should only be used as a rough guide and as highlighted we recommend you look into the specifications of the object you want to tow first.

If you require more dedicated advice for your individual requirements our specialist Kia support team are on hand to help you.

Does the Kia Sportage hold its value over time?

Obviously, there are a lot of factors that contribute to this answer such as the number of used cars and used SUVs available on the market and the condition and mileage of the SUV. However, a well-kept Kia Sportage does tend to hold its value rather well over time.
