What is the Motability Scheme?
Motability is the charity responsible for the Motability Scheme, which gives motorists with a disability their independence by helping them fund a new vehicle. The charity enables motorists to use the mobility allowance granted to them by the government to cover the cost of a lease for a new car. The agreement also includes the cost for servicing, insurance, road tax and more. Additionally, users can apply for financial assistance so that they can afford the mobility option they need.
Over four million people have been helped in this way since the scheme was set up over 35 years ago. As well as vehicles, Motability provides scooters and powered wheelchairs through partnerships with dealerships and suppliers. Chippenham Motor Company is proud to be among them.
