8 ways the Volvo XC90 will make your life easier

1. No more crying over spilled milk

Have you ever popped your shopping in the boot of your car and driven all the way home only to find the contents of your shopping bags have escaped and are roaming free? You're not alone. 

With the Volvo XC90, you won't have to spend time repacking your shopping thanks to the unique grocery bag holders. Simply lift the hidden hatch on the floor of the boot to reveal shopping bag hooks and elastic straps that will keep everything secure for your journey.

There are also two additional fold out holders, one on each side of the cargo compartment, for more storage. Each hook can hold up to 5kg in weight. 

2. Pilot Assist

The intelligent Pilot Assist^* function can even take away the stress of driving on busy motorways and other major roads by doing the driving for you!

Using a combination of cameras and radar sensors, the Volvo XC90 will keep track of the vehicles around you, adjusting the speed to suit the surrounding traffic. The car can also provide steering assistance to keep you in lane.

The system will maintain a speed and distance set by you, and accelerates and brakes depending on what the vehicle in front is doing. 

3. Easy Keyless Access

The Volvo XC90 is available with keyless entry, so you don't need to route around in your pocket or bag to find them. As long as the key is in range, you'll be able to access your Volvo by simply touching the handle. 

And it's not just the doors, you can also access the boot with the simple foot operated automatic tailgate^*. Simply wave your foot underneath the sensors on the bumper and the boot will open, make it easy to access when your hands are full.

There is also a button located on the vehicle's key to open the boot in just one click.

4. Removing the stress of parking

The Volvo XC90's Park Assist^* features will help you manoeuvre in tight spaces by indicating distances to obstacles using audible signals and graphics in the centre display.

But it doesn't stop there. With the intelligent Park Assist Pilot^* option, your XC90 can judge the available space, line your car up and steer you into your parking space with ease. Park Assist Pilot can be used for parallel parking and bay parking.

The Park Out function can also provide assistance when pulling out of a parking space. 

5. The car with its own memory

If you share your vehicle with your partner, family members or colleagues, it can be frustrating having to adjust your seat and mirrors each time you get back in the car.

With the XC90's memory function for front seats, the simple tap of a button will return the seats, mirrors and head-up display back to your preferred settings.

There are 3 storage slots available, so 3 people can choose and store their preferred arrangements, making it easier to get back to your optimal driving settings for every journey, no matter who is in the driver's seat.

6. Providing a personal assistant

With Volvo OnCall^* your XC90 has its own built in personal assistant.

You can check the status of your vehicle from the innovative mobile app, which will show you where your car is, whether it is locked or needs any fuel. You can even start your vehicle remotely from the app!

Other services the Volvo OnCall feature can provide you include alerting you to any vehicle maintenance you may require, or putting you directly in contact with Volvo customer services in the event of a flat tyre or breakdown.

And in more unexpected situations, the Volvo XC90 will automatically alert Volvo or the nearest emergency service in the event of an accident.

7. No more uphill battles

The Volvo XC90 is equipped with Hill Start Assist helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backward when starting on an uphill gradient. When backing up a hill, this function helps prevent the vehicle from rolling forward.

The function retains pressure from the brake pedal in the brake system for several seconds after the brake pedal has been released.

This temporary braking effect is released after a few seconds or when the driver begins driving. Hill Start Assist is activated when the vehicle is stopped on steep inclines. The function is available even when the Auto-hold brake function is switched off.

8. Automatic Everything!

The Volvo XC90 takes away all the little steps. You no longer have to remember to switch your lights on and off thanks to the Daytime Running Lights which detects ambient light using sensors and switches to low beams when light levels are low enough.

If your car has been unlocked and none of the doors or tailgate have been opened within two minutes, the XC90 will automatically lock itself to prevent the car being left unlocked unintentionally.

Even down to the Automatic Gear Box removing the requirement to change gears yourself!
